What is a NVQ?

NVQs are qualifications that are usually completed in a realistic working environment. One of the benefits of an NVQ is that the student can prove their competency through demonstration and assessment.

Level 2 NVQs are equivalent to 4-5 GCSE grades.

Level 3 NVQs are equivalent to 2 A levels.

A key part of your course will include proving that you can do certain work-related tasks. During the course, you will be assessed through your portfolio, where you build evidence of the work you have done, and by observation, where an assessor watches you work and checks that you can perform the necessary tasks.

How will I be assessed?

This qualification can be completed in as little as 16 weeks but you have up to 12 months to fully finish the course.

You will need a good understanding of basic computer skills to complete your coursework & use  Zoom for your assessment.

All material for your qualification will be uploaded to our e-learning platform. This can be accessed and completed from anywhere. You will complete all your unit assignments on computer and submit them to us for marking.

Some units will be completed through essay-style written accounts and reflections of your own assessment practices. Whereas some units would require submission of relevant work such as audio or video recordings as evidence that you assessed learners in a work or training environment

The last units are practical and expect that you assess two learners studying for a course that is in a work or training environment relating to your assessment sector ie beauty.
