Pre-Treatment Requirements

• It is preferable to bathe or shower prior to attending for a treatment as the skin will be hydrated and more efficient at absorbing the oils used in the treatment. It is important that no bath oils or lotions are used, and no body lotions, gels, creams, etc. be applied to the skin as this will hinder the oil’s absorption. (The use of an underarm deodorant is acceptable.)
• It is important to drink plenty of water before and after treatment to maintain adequate hydration and to aid the removal of waste from the body.
• If you have any serious medical conditions, it is wise to consult your GP prior to treatment. The information asked for during your consultation should reveal any problems and your therapist may advise you to seek the permission of your GP before treatment can commence.
• We advise you to exfoliate your body prior to the treatment.
• Allow time to relax before having the treatment.
• Try to avoid caffeine prior to treatment.
• Wear loose, comfortable clothing.

Aftercare Requirements

• Drink plenty of water or herbal teas to encourage the elimination of toxins from the body.
• Do not shower or bath for eight hours to allow time for the oils to penetrate from the skin into the bloodstream.
• Avoid tea, coffee, and caffeine as they are a stimulant to the body and will not allow you to relax.
• Avoid sun exposure for 24 hours.
• Eat a light and healthy diet to allow the body to put its energy into healing.
• Rest and relax after treatment to allow the body to heal itself.
• Avoid smoking and alcohol for 24 hours after as their stimulating effects may hinder the detoxifying process.
• Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours after treatment.
• Avoid home scrubs for at least 12 hours.
• Possible contra-actions that may occur such as a skin reaction, oedema, headache, bruising, stiffness in muscles, a change in sleeping pattern, increased urination.

The First Training academy was established by Directors Maria Hammond, Nicola Simpson and Maria Cramp in early 2018 to provide high quality, short intensive training courses available weekdays and weekends all year round, welcoming students from all backgrounds, ages and any gender wanting to change career or already qualified therapists looking to add treatments to their menu. It was a new business venture to compliment the already well-established Beauty Salons and Beauty Supply Stores they have all owned for over 20 years.

Models play a critical part in our courses. Our tutors demonstrate treatments to our students, who then practice their newly acquired skills on a live model. Students are closely supervised by their tutor and are on hand to ensure the treatment is performed to professional standards.

In turn, the model receives a top-quality treatment for a substantially discounted price. All our treatments take place in our state-of-the-art training academy in Tonbridge, Kent with more academies to open across the South East in 2021.
