Microblading (also known as eyebrow embroidery) is a manual method of applying semi-permanent makeup without the use of a machine.

We use a specially designed “single-use” disposable tool that is sterile having been individually wrapped. This tool is used to deposit a coloured pigment into the upper layers of the skin to create fine, realistic-looking hair strokes to mimic full and defined eyebrows.

Microblading isn’t just great for anyone looking to improve or enhance the look of their eyebrows, it’s also for those with fine and gappy brows, even those suffering from alopecia.

This technique lasts around 12 – 18 months depending on skin type and chosen colour and correct aftercare followed.

A consultation is needed before the treatment to assess if the procedure is correct for you and to discuss any queries or concerns you may have. This CAN be done within our clinics. We will go through with you what will happen on treatment day and will perform a patch test to prevent any allergic reaction. On the day you will be given full aftercare instructions and a balm to take away to promote the healing process.

A follow-up treatment is needed around four to six weeks after your first appointment, this is to check that all the pigment strokes have healed and a chance for you to add maybe a darker colour or thicken up the shape. Once you are used to your new brows there are options to keep them nice and fresh with either a 6-month colour boost or a yearly top-up. Please note that if you have had your brows done by a different provider you will need to book a consultation before any top-up or colour boost, as the technician will need to assess if the treatment can be performed and to give you a price if any correction work is needed.

Aftercare Requirements for Microblading 

No touching of the brow area, dry healing- so avoid steam, saunas and any water around the brow area. Do not pick any scabs that may appear. Use balm to help hydrate. Rebook in the clinic for the 4-6 week top up- if work is done by a student, you may need to have a third top up, at a later date but this is discussed with our therapists.

The First Training academy was established by Directors Maria Hammond, Nicola Simpson and Maria Cramp in early 2018 to provide high quality, short intensive training courses available weekdays and weekends all year round, welcoming students from all backgrounds, ages and any gender wanting to change career or already qualified therapists looking to add treatments to their menu. It was a new business venture to compliment the already well-established Beauty Salons and Beauty Supply Stores they have all owned for over 20 years.

Models play a critical part in our courses. Our tutors demonstrate treatments to our students, who then practice their newly acquired skills on a live model. Students are closely supervised by their tutor and are on hand to ensure the treatment is performed to professional standards.

In turn, the model receives a top-quality treatment for a substantially discounted price. All our treatments take place in our state-of-the-art training academy in Tonbridge, Kent with more academies to open across the South East in 2021.
