Anti-Wrinkle Injections are a simple, safe, and effective way to eliminate unwanted facial lines and deep wrinkles. They work to relax facial muscles making lines and wrinkles, such as worry lines, crow’s feet and frown lines, less obvious.

Pre-Treatment Requirements

• Minimise alcohol consumption for a minimum of 24 hours prior to injectable treatment. Alcohol can thin the blood making it easier for bruising to occur. It is best to avoid alcohol for a minimum of 3 days prior to injectable treatment.
• Avoid certain supplements and medications before the procedure. It is best to avoid any blood thinning agents for at least 1 week prior to injectable treatment to minimise the occurrence of bruising.
• Stop all NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications) such as aspirin, Advil, Aleve, Nuprin, Bufferin, Ibuprofen, etc. Tylenol is ok to use.
• Stop all herbal supplements such as fish oil, ginkgo, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, garlic pills, etc. (a multi-vitamin is ok to continue).
• Always discuss any history of allergies and current medications you are taking with your provider.
• Start taking oral arnica prior to the procedure. Arnica is a natural supplement which helps to reduce swelling and bruising. Starting the supplement, the day prior to the procedure and continuing after the procedure is recommended.
• Avoid salty foods a few days before and after the treatment as excess sodium causes the body to retain water, which in turn can worsen swelling.
• Avoid any depilatory treatments (hair removal, such as tweezing, waxing, etc.) for a minimum of 2 days prior to the treatment. Tell your provider if you are planning any chemical peel treatments or laser treatments as this may cause possible irritation at the treatment site.

Aftercare Requirements

• Avoid applying make-up or any product to the area (if applicable).
• Avoid physical activity for 10 days
• Avoid extreme temperatures, swimming, spas, saunas, icy temperatures, or UV radiation for 3 days
• Avoid laser, cryolipolysis or radiofrequency treatments for 14 days
• Drink 1-2 litres of water daily.
• Slight erythema and bruising may be prominent for up to 48-72 hours after treatment, and swelling can take anywhere between 24 hours- 2 weeks to subside
• Small red raised weal’s may be visible in the treated area. These are temporary and should subside within a few days but can last up to 7 days
• Pain killers can be taken but to avoid ibuprofen as they will work against the treatment.
• After 24hrs, the area can be massaged to help reduce any nodules, massage 3 times daily for up to a week
• Results can be visible in a few weeks when swelling has disappeared. If necessary, rebook them for treatment in 4-6 weeks’ time

The First Training academy was established by Directors Maria Hammond, Nicola Simpson and Maria Cramp in early 2018 to provide high quality, short intensive training courses available weekdays and weekends all year round, welcoming students from all backgrounds, ages and any gender wanting to change career or already qualified therapists looking to add treatments to their menu. It was a new business venture to compliment the already well-established Beauty Salons and Beauty Supply Stores they have all owned for over 20 years.

Models play a critical part in our courses. Our tutors demonstrate treatments to our students, who then practice their newly acquired skills on a live model. Students are closely supervised by their tutor and are on hand to ensure the treatment is performed to professional standards.

In turn, the model receives a top-quality treatment for a substantially discounted price. All our treatments take place in our state-of-the-art training academy in Tonbridge, Kent with more academies to open across the South East in 2021.
